Membership Criteria

  1. Interested business and professional associations that desire to be part of the coalition should pick up the membership form at PLACOBPA Secretariat and pay the relevant fees.
  2. Membership is open to BMOs and is voluntary.
  3. Organization must be non-religious and non-partisan.
  4. BMOs must have a proven track record and or evidence of having done some activities to the benefit of its members and must comprise of at least 15 members.
  5. Two existing members of the Coalition must stand as surety for the indenting member organization.
  6. There shall be a 1year probationary period before full admission into membership.
  7. Intending organization must fill appropriate forms and pay all necessary fees before admission into full membership.

 

Membership Obligations

  1. Prepare to regularly and promptly attend all coalition meetings and activities and be aware in advance of the meeting agenda.
  2. Be knowledgeable about the coalition and the issues surrounding the business community in Plateau State.
  3. Attend and be an active participant on subcommittees of the coalition as assigned.
  4. Support the coalition leadership in organizing meetings, preparing agendas and shaping the specific work of the coalition in relation to its broad mission.
  5. Interested business and professional associations that desire to be part of the coalition should pick up the membership form at PLACOBPA Secretariat and pay the relevant fees.
  6. Serve as an ambassador of the state’s business community.
  7. Support the ongoing process of recruiting new coalition member.

Membership Benefits

  1. Free access of the Coalition’s support on handling issues challenging the various associations and professional bodies.
  2. Regular provision of relevant information about the programmes and activities of the Coalition.
  3. Participation in drafting the legislative and business agenda of the Coalition for advocacy purposes towards policy reform as it affects the association/professional body.
  4. Participation in programmes and events of the Coalition is open to all members. The number of participants from every association/professional body shall be established depending on the actual event, organizer and sponsor(s).
  5. Recognition of association members on the coalition’s website for wide publicity.
  6. Members are entitled to mention such affiliations (i.e. proof of belonging to the Coalition) in their promotional materials with contact information.
  7. Depending on actual interests, the Coalition may create partnerships with other organizations or representatives of International Agencies.
